For 27 years, the Businesses in Downtown Manhattan Beach have kicked off the holiday shopping season with a festive night of holiday fare. This is our way of treating locals to a special family-friendly holiday evening. The Downtown area is lit up for the holidays and comes alive with entertainment on every street, every block and in every business. In addition, the Mayor flips the switch to light the pier and the Roundhouse… its magical!

Almost 10,000 PEOPLE COME FROM ALL OVER THE SOUTH BAY TO ENJOY THE HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE,
so be prepared and have fun!

 
 
 
 

We ask that ALL businesses participate by staying open until 9pm. One dark business is like a dark string of lights on the tree… it’s just not right.

Whether you are an office, a service, a retail shop or a restaurant, we want you to pull out all the holiday magic you can imagine. Go big, think magically, decorate your window, dress up and make Clark Griswold proud!

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

What you can do:

  • Throw a party and invite your customers, friends, and family to your business

  • Offer special holiday food, entertainment, games, music and a pre-holiday offer

  • Offer a unique experience, special guest, or a rare opportunity to purchase

  • Participate in the Window Decorating Contest – let your imagination run wild

  • Smile and greet guests as if they are coming to your home for the holidays

 

WHAT THE DBPA PROVIDES Through your $100 contribution:

  • A comprehensive 5-week holiday marketing campaign, including banners, posters, print & digital media, as well as specialized publications

  • Holiday lighting throughout Downtown and Metlox Plaza

  • Santa and his sleigh twice during the holidays (HOH, Farmers’ Market)

  • Nearly $5,000 in entertainment on every street and every block during Holiday Open House! (costumed carolers, face painting, balloon twisting, live reindeer…)

  • Additional weekend musical entertainment & carolers from the award-winning Mira Costa Choir and Band, throughout December

  • Small Business Saturday advertising and support 

How YOU can help:

  • We need EVERY business of every type to contribute $100 towards the Holiday Open House and the Holiday Marketing Fund to maintain the holiday atmosphere beloved by the entire South Bay and our visitors. Thank you for supporting this special season Downtown!
